Griffin was born in Louisville, Kentucky where he enjoyed playing catch with his older brother in the alleyways of downtown, racing kids at the local park, and attending Kentucky Derby parties. But after losing his mother to cancer at the age of six years old, he spent his childhood sleeping on friends' couches and living at hotels and homeless shelters. Despite the obstacles, Griffin persevered and graduated top of his high school and college classes. He ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude at Florida State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. After being coined the "Homeless Valedictorian" on all major news outlets across America in 2014, Griffin realized the power of his message and began compiling his childhood stories during his freshman year of college in hopes of inspiring other students. This led to his first book, Boundless: Choosing a Mindset for Lifelong Growth, which was released in August of 2022. His creative outlet was developed early in middle school, where he enjoyed writing poetry and acting. Today, Griffin works as a full-time civil engineer and in his free time, he loves to create, write, and speak to schools. His biggest goals are to inspire other students and build his Boundless Scholarship Fund.
