Gloria Jean Hansen (email glowin@persona.ca) was born and raised in the small Scandinavian farming community of Kipling in Northern Ontario, Canada. She is mother of four, grandmother to eight plus, retired nurse, and bluegrass musician who enjoys playing and jamming at various festival circuits with her friends. In her spare time she enjoys writing, painting, skiing, camping and fishing with her family. Gloria has penned long-running newspaper columns including the Elliot Lake Standard (As I See It), several magazine articles in publications such as Canadian Nurse, Doorways to the mind, Animal Review and Whitehorse Press. She has five published books, among them MOON OVER KIPLING and RURAL ROOTS, both a collection of short stories about growing up in her beloved Kipling,WEARY TRAVELER COME HOME, a steamy historical romance set in the Great Depression years on the Canadian prairies, BORN TO BE WILD, a trucking romance set on the scenic stretch of Highway 17 near Sault Ste. Marie ON, and WHERE WERE YOU?, a compilation of accounts written by survivors of the deadly mall collapse of Elliot Lake,ON on June 23, 2012. Two new anthology-style novels will be released in the near future, COW TALES & HORSEFEATHERS and WHOLE LOTTA LOVE. Her articles also appear in several series of CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL. One day Gloria will retire to a cabin by the river to write full time.
