A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Gilbert H Mackin also holds a PhD from the University of California and other degrees. He served on active duty in the USNR during the Vietnam War as a Navy Frogman in UDT 11. Doctor Mackin is a sailor who spent almost a decade living on board a ketch. He has written a play, a novel and many short stories and poems.
