Previously an adventurer, Elly Gedye is a Kiwi author and illustrator of books for young children. Her son is disabled with a rare and terminal metabolic disorder - Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). In an attempt to fund research into NKH, all royalties go towards The Mikaere Foundation, supporting Prof. Nick Greene at UCL. #nkhcansuckit All her books come in dual language form supporting multilingual families, and where possible she bends gender stereotypes (who says girls can’t be astronauts/engineers/scientists AND ballerinas/singers/teachers?!)
