Proudly, I am one of the few who can. For the past forty years, I have been employed with Mervis Diamond Importers, in many different roles. My love of diamonds began as a young girl, and I am fortunate to say I love what I do. I started with Mervis as a receptionist, completed the diamond and diamond grading course with the Gemological Institute of America, and became the assistant diamond buyer. As our business grew, my role expanded to jewelry buyer as well. I have also been a salesperson, accounting manager, and event planner. Being a student with the G.I.A. allowed me to travel to South Africa and visit multiple diamond mines. Most notably, I traveled a mile underground at the Kimberly Diamond Mine and experienced diamond mining and recovery firsthand. My position with Mervis Diamond Importers has also enabled me to travel to New York, Las Vegas, Italy, and Switzerland, where I met many amazing people in the jewelry industry who were surrounded by beautiful gems and jewels. What more can a girl ask for?! My knowledge and experience go far beyond the average jeweler, and I love to share this information with anyone interested! I have successfully sold to hundreds, if not thousands, of men and women using the information and techniques I have gathered. When I sell to customers, I often see a look of concern or anxiety on their faces. But, once they begin to understand the different facets of diamonds and the beauty of engagement rings, I see their angst dissolve, and their eyes brighten. Experiencing this is the most rewarding aspect of my job, or what I like to think of as my LOVE.
