Dixie A Hirschi grew up living a ranch life south of the Badlands in Bowman, North Dakota. As the oldest of five children, her adventures prepared her to live through extreme seasonal temperatures, know how to be aware of rattlesnakes, tornadoes and hail storms, identify rabid animals, and survive flash floods. With such an adventurous developmental life, it is not a wonder that her journey led to finding the gaps in life. For more than 26 years she advocated, educated, trained, coached, and created learning opportunities for communities. Her passion for awareness and curiosity are evidenced in her being a founder member of a classical school and a teacher for 12 years. She continued this passion in managing a federal grant to bring healthy relationship education specifically in WI and then nationally as a Director of Outreach and Training Specialist through The Dibble Institute. Most recently, she continues to work in supporting communities with trauma resilient education and practices. She serves as a volunteer at the Dove Center, a non-profit organization that serves those who experience domestic abuse and sexual violence, and she is a governing board member of Southwest Forensic Nurses and Healthcare (SWFN). The SWFN and Healthcare nurses provide medical exams and resources to those who experience sexual assault in Washington and Iron County in southern Utah. Dixie’s passion for living fully has prepared her in living a rich and full life. Connecting with people where they are is a part of her journey in life and one she gladly travels.
