Diana Stevan likes to describe herself as a Jill of all trades. Her eclectic work history serves her well in her writing. She's worked as a family therapist, a professional actor, professional model, teacher, and a freelance writer-broadcaster for CBC Televisions Sports Journal. She's published poetry in the U.K. journal, DREAMCATCHER; a short story in the anthology, ESCAPE; a novelette, THE BLUE NIGHTGOWN; and five novels: A CRY FROM THE DEEP, a romantic mystery/adventure, THE RUBBER FENCE, inspired by her work on a psychiatric ward; and Lukia's Family Saga trilogy--SUNFLOWERS UNDER FIRE, a family saga based on her Ukrainian grandmother's life during WWI and the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and its sequels, LILACS in the DUST BOWL, set during the Great Depression in Canada, and PAPER ROSES on STONY MOUNTAIN, set during the last years of the depression and early years of WWII. SUNFLOWERS UNDER FIRE was a finalist for the 2019 Whistler Independent Book Awards (sponsored by the Writers Union of Canada) and a semi-finalist for a 2019 Kindle Book Award in the Literary Fiction category. PAPER ROSES on STONY MOUNTAIN was on Miramichi Reader's List of Best Fiction of 2022. With their daughters grown and married, Diana lives with her husband Robert in West Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, in beautiful British Columbia. When she isn't writing, she's working in her garden, travelling, playing her fiddle and painting. You can visit her at http://www.dianastevan.com or at https://www.facebook.com/diana.stevan
