"Driven by the desire to see into other people's minds." Derek Meister was born in Hanover in 1973. He studied film and television dramaturgy at the Potsdam/Babelsberg Film Academy and successfully writes feature films, event movies and series for German television. Among others for ZDF, RTL and Pro7. His adventure film "The Hunt for the Treasure of the Nibelungs" was nominated for the German Television Award in four categories. His historical crime series "Rungholt" ["Rungholts Ehre"] was nominated for the Friedrich-Glauser Crime Prize. The series about the bearish patrician who hunts liars, murderers and butchers in the dark alleys of Lübeck in 1390 has long been a cult. Derek Meister is married and has been working as a freelance author since 1999.
