DJ and writer Dave Haslam made his DJing debut at the Hacienda in 1986. He played over 450 times at the legendary club. His journalism has since appeared in publications including the Guardian, the London Review of Books, and the New Statesman. He’s featured on radio and TV, and written five full-length books, including his memoir ‘Sonic Youth Slept On My Floor’ (acclaimed by BBC 6 Music presenter Gilles Peterson as “the best book of 2018”). Among his other activities, he has curated music, art, and photography events for organisations including Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester International Festival, BDC (Parma, Italy), and Silencio (Paris). His latest project is ‘Art Decades’; a limited-edition series of small format books about subjects including vinyl collecting, Keith Haring's New York nightlife, the Angry Brigade, Courtney Love's life-changing trip to Liverpool in 1982, and Sylvia Plath alone in Paris in 1956. The books have been described as "Lovely editions & beautifully written" by broadcaster James O'Brien.
