Dash Graci was born in Seattle and mostly raised in Pittsburgh—where they live with their partners, two cats, and an ever-expanding horde of books, comics, and dice that they swear is under control. In the past, they have moonlighted as a nightclub bouncer, a stylist specializing in gender-affirming fashion, and, for reasons best left unexplained, an axe-throwing instructor at a lumberjack-themed bar. They come by the performative streak honestly—their father was once the arena announcer for the Seattle SuperSonics. Their stories draw on a lifelong fascination with mythology, folklore, picaresque fiction, and subversive fairy tale traditions—told through a lens that is unapologetically queer. When not reading or writing, Dash can usually be found geeking out over dispatches from the James Webb Space Telescope, attempting to convince friends that their interest in piracy is purely academic, or explaining to anyone who will listen that no one will ever be as goth as Mary Shelley.
