Christopher R. Fee is a medievalist and Graeff Professor of English at Gettysburg College, where from 2008 to 2011 he was Johnson Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Humanities. Fee has taught a wide variety of topics, creating hands-on learning opportunities for students in subjects including Beowulf in Denmark; Acting Hamlet--from Page to Stage; Performing Medieval Drama; The Vikings in Britain; In Search of King Arthur; and Confronting Homelessness in America. Fee knows a lot about medieval monsters and mayhem, and was interviewed in 2016 by TIME magazine about The Real History of Dragons [http://time.com/4294397/game-of-thrones-history-dragons/]. Fee has special interests in mythology, legend, and folklore, teaches many related courses, and is author of several books on such topics, including Gods, Heroes, and Kings: The Battle for Mythic Britain; Mythology in the Middle Ages: Heroic Tales of Monsters, Magic, and Might; The Goddess: Myths of the Great Mother; and Arthur: God & Hero in Avalon. Fee is also editor of the Encyclopedia of American Myth, Legend, and Folklore and the Encyclopedia of Conspiracies & Conspiracy Theories in American History. Fee earned his PHD in English Language at the University of Glasgow, where he was a postgraduate tutor in topics including Old English, Old Norse, and historical linguistics. Fee is also a proud alumnus of the Medieval Studies Program at the University of Connecticut, of the English Departments of Loyola University Chicago and Baldwin-Wallace College, and of Saint Edward High School. Fee has taught students from a wide range of very fine colleges and universities in his capacity as a visiting faculty member at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen in 2012, 2015, and 2016. In 2012, Fee was named one of the 300 Best Professors in America by the Princeton Review.
