Christopher M. Meissner is professor of economics at the University of California, Davis. He has published over 50 articles and chapters with a focus on the economic history of the international economy. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Previous to joining the faculty at Davis, Meissner was an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics at Cambridge University and a Fellow of King's College. He has held visiting scholar positions at the International Monetary Fund, Harvard, INSEAD, the Paris School of Economics, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, and New York University, Shanghai. In 2006 he was a Houblon Norman fellow at the Bank of England and the Hans Christian Andersen visiting Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense in 2015. Meissner holds a PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley and an AB in economics from Washington University in St. Louis.
