Cathy Gunn, born in Tanzania in 1954, grew up in Nigeria, Scotland, and parts of England before settling in London. 'Felix Unbound', published in 2020, is her first novel. Her non-fiction books, written during a long career as a financial journalist and financial editor at a variety of UK national newspapers and magazines, reveal what underlay some of the business scandals and dramas of the 1990s. A shift into arts fundraising, for theatres, led her to an iconic archaeological project in London's Shoreditch at the rediscovered site of the first purpose-built theatre since Roman times - James Burbage's renowned 16th century 'The Theatre'. Cathy raised funds to build a viewing walkway, for the modern theatre company that owned the site at the time, to show visitors the dig and its discoveries in progress. Following these brushes with the past, she did an MA in the History of Ideas. Research during that yielded a treasure trove to draw upon for her fiction writing too. With 'Felix Unbound' completed, she is currently working on a novella, and some short stories. She has two adult children, two dogs, one husband; and mentors an arts management MA student every year.
