I spent my early years in North Carolina, middle school years at the American School in Manila, PI, then boarding school in New England, college at U Penn, seminary in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ordained Episcopal priest in 1966. Parish priest in Akron, Ohio, Washington, D.C, Dedham, Massachusetts, La Jolla, California before retiring in 1996 to write full time. In addition to the 5 novels, I do a short piece with photos (Zone Notes) that I send out most weeks to some 600 readers. My politics are center left, my personality introvert. My wife and 5 grown children might say I border on recluse. I am surprised at how long I have been here (76 years and counting), lucky enough to be pretty active (tennis, ocean swimming, hiking). The past 20 years we have divided the year between summers at our beloved old (1830) farmhouse in rural Vermont, and coastal southern California in winter. My wife Lacey just retired after more than 40 years as an interior designer of some note. If you'd like to receive the Zone Notes send me an email – blayneycolmore@gmail.com. God alone knows how long I have to go. My intention is to use what time I have left to explore the ways our species alternately creates wonders and new ways to sabotage ourselves. Whether we're a fascinating, likely failed experiment, or morphing into something new and long lasting here, remains to be seen.
