Barrie Doyle was born in Wales and has lived in the UK as well as both the United States and Canada. He is a former journalist with major newspapers in Canada and magazines in the United States. As a public relations professional he has handled major clients in crisis communications, media relations, strategic planning and event management and planning. For 18 years he was an adjunct professor in the School of Media Studies at Humber College in Toronto--one of the leading PR programmes. He has mentored students who now serve in major communications portfolios for major corporations, non-profits and government agencies around the world. For seven years he was a panel member on CTS Television network public affairs program, "Behind the Story" looking at major national and international news stories. After a career of telling other peoples' stories in the field of non-fiction, he turned to fiction to explore deeper nuances of what makes people tick. "The Excalibur Parchment" is the first of a suspense/thriller series, The Oak Grove Conspiracies. The second and third books ("The Lucifer Scroll" and "The Prince Madoc Secret") are also available in print and on Kindle., A fourth, "The Dragon's Legacy," will be available in 2022. History, its untold stories, and the quirks of human nature also intrigue Barrie, His latest book, "Musick for the King" tells the little known backstory of composer George Frederick Handel and his inspired creation of the classic masterpiece Messiah., Handel's story is one that could be told of many people--famous or not--who are faced with overwhelming challenges that are about to destroy them, only to see them persevere and overcome triumphantly. It's a story many authors, artists and others can relate to and certainly admire.
