Ann Harleman's new novel, TELL ME, SIGNORA, is just out. Her other books include two short story collections—HAPPINESS, which won the Iowa Short Fiction Award, and THOREAU'S LAUNDRY—and two novels, BITTER LAKE and THE YEAR SHE DISAPPEARED. Among her awards are Guggenheim and Rockefeller fellowships, the Berlin Prize in Literature, the PEN Syndicated Fiction Award, the O. Henry Award, and a Rona Jaffe Writer’s Award. For Ann, storytelling began as a response to personal tragedy and loss. Her fiction explores ways to find meaning in suffering--and joy in living. Besides fiction, Ann writes poetry, translations, and song lyrics, and reviews books for national publications. After twenty-two years teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design, she's now on the faculty of Brown University. She makes her home within sight of San Francisco Bay, and can be reached through her website (annharleman.com) or on Instagram (@annharleman_author).
