Alessandro Carlini is an Italian journalist and writer whose work spans crime fiction, narrative history, and biographical writing. His debut novel "Partigiano in camicia nera" (Chiarelettere, 2017) won the Premio Città di Como Opera Prima and the Premio Carver. His crime novel "Gli sciacalli" (Newton Compton, 2021), submitted for the Premio Strega, was followed by a sequel, "Il nome del male" (2022). His biographical works include "Nome in codice: Renata" (Utet, 2023), a portrait of SOE agent and partisan Paola Del Din shortlisted for the Premio Fiuggi Storia, and "Se il fuoco ci desidera" (Utet, 2024), on Alpini officer and partisan Renato Del Din, which won the Alpini Sempre Prize and was shortlisted for the Emilio Lussu Prize. His latest book, "I battiti della montagna" (CAI Edizioni), traces a journey of personal rebirth through the landscapes of the Apennines, the Langhe, and the Alps, weaving together the voices of great writers with the stories of those who fought during both World Wars.
