Born and raised in Alaska, Aileen Joy has enjoyed art her entire life, from the little cartoons her parents drew her as a child, to later admiring many other talented artists. She attended college in Washington, graduating in 2004 with a degree in graphic design. In 2007 she started her business Ai Candi, where she begin with design and later swayed mostly into art and writing. Her experience behind art, graphics and print ended up being the perfect mix to be able to create her own books. The natural environments and simple life inspires her. As the world gets more busy she strives to keep a transparent yet enriched outlook about the world, while bringing the little things and simple ideas to the forefront of her stories.
