My professional career as an advertising copywriter for 25 years prepared me to write my book, "Boob in a Box—A Guide for Anyone Having a Mammogram." Getting a breast cancer diagnosis at age 59, surgery to remove both boobs, and having treatment, threw me off my game until I realized my sense of humor was the key to getting through it all. Born in Detroit and subsequently graduating from Michigan State University, I worked for ad agencies and Fortune 500 companies. I wanted to help women learn some information without getting overwhelmed by a diagnosis and all the information on the Internet. So enjoy my funny sense of humor by reading this book. Having the tools and understanding options will make you want to do what I wanted to do, and that is to shoot the "S" off the Hooter's sign because if I was going down to just one, they were going down with me.
