Summary
Take one betrothal gone awry…
Prince Angelo is destined to marry Prince Yuri. Never mind that Angelo isn’t gay and didn’t choose to be saddled with a moony-eyed princeling who is determined to ruin Angelo’s life. Then one day Yuri goes too far and Angelo has to take matters into his own hands.
Add one doomed arranged marriage…
Prince Yuri is destined forever to pine after Prince Angelo. Arranged marriages are archaic and awful enough without being stuck for life with someone you want who will never, ever in a million years want you back. Still, for someone who claims to want nothing to do with Yuri, Angelo is surprisingly possessive.
And you just might get one unexpected romance.
Two men, thrown together by fate and scheming parents, shouldn’t have a prayer of finding a happy ever after. But fate can be fickle, and love can exist where you never thought it could.
Royally Screwed is a M/M romance novel featuring royalty, a poorly-thought-out betrothal, one prince in need of a firm hand, a second prince who isn’t as straight as he always thought, drunken texting, bickering, practice kissing, odious British nobility, and falling in love despite all the reasons why you shouldn’t.

Loved it
Fantastic book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The narrator was brilliant; he changed his voice/accent flawlessly for each character. He made the characters come alive.

A heart melting read
I absolutely enjoyed this book. Van Dorn’s talents give the reader a broad range of emotions as well as wonderful character development. Ferraiuolo’s narration evokes so many feels. Honestly a book not to be missed

Royally Screwed And Loving It
Royally Screwed is a contemporary romance centered around two fictional countries with monarchies. So for, Royally Screwed is a standalone novel with a bonus (free!) short story that can be found on the author’s webpage. I really enjoyed this book. First, Lynn Van Dorn is a great writer with a flair for humor and creating wonderful, flawed characters that you just can’t help but love. Second, there’s a lot of delicious kink and D/s elements throughout the book that makes this an extremely hot and erotic read. Third, the plot and tone of the book did a great job of balancing modern realities with a subtle fairy tale atmosphere. There’s no magic or supernatural elements, but the enchanting nature that permeates fairy tales is present throughout this book.
Angelo and Yuri have been betrothed since the moment their mothers found out they were pregnant. Yuri turning out to be a boy was a bit of a surprise, but both kingdoms still pushed forward with the betrothal since the trade deals and economic benefits outweighed any objections to gay marriage. This has been the reality Angelo and Yuri have grown up in, and while both men have had conflicted feelings about this arrangement, there has also been a magnetic pull the two of them have felt towards each other.
This book is infused with an abundance of humor, feelings, fantastic sex, hot spankings, hurt/comfort, protectiveness, and drama. The beginning portion of the book gives us peeks into significant moments of Angelo and Yuri’s relationship as they grew up. The book’s plot steadies out when Angelo and Yuri are graduating from college and moving on to the next adult steps in their lives. Difficult decisions need to be made and epiphanies need to be revealed before the men can have their happy ever after.
The audiobook is narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo who does a fantastic job with the narration. He has such a diverse and beautiful voice that was perfect for this story. I loved the different accents he did and how incredibly sexy and delicious he made the main characters sound. The performance was well done with the appropriate amount of energy and inflection intoned for each character. I had no trouble following along with story and distinguishing between characters. Overall, this was a really enjoyable listening experience paired with an amazing and wonderful story. I highly recommend it.

Royally Screwed
Royally Screwed is a bit of a diversion from the other audiobooks I have listened to by Lynn Van Dorn. There’s less angst and darkness and much more humour, don’t get me wrong, the emotions that the two characters, Yuri and Angelo feel and go through are real and heartfelt but this story has a much more modern day fairytale feel to it.
Enjoyable but not necessarily my cup of tea.

Loved this so much!
Take one gay prince and one straight prince, both from neighboring countries, engaged since birth, one of them longing for the other and with a penchant for spanking and the other slowly starting to feel something he never imagined and very willing to 'help' dole the spankings. Add to that Lynn Van Dorn's brilliant writing and her ability to combine humor with angst in a captivating way and you'll get a book you won't be able to put down until you're done.
I love GFY stories, that shouldn't come as a surprise if you've ever read my reviews, but I also love that they're realistic and this one definitely was. Yes, both Prince Angelo and Prince Yuri knew they were eventually going to marry even if love or even sharing a bed wasn't part of the equation, but while Yuri has pined for Angelo his whole life, Angelo is straight, at least until he starts helping Yuri release some tension (and a whole lot of animosity on his part) through spanking and he decided Yuri was his. We see their relationship evolve from when they were little until they're in college, both having relationships in between (which aren't expanded on, thank you very much) and after one of Yuri's goes very badly, I loved that Angelo was willing to take one for the team.
The unrequited longing, their banter, Angelo's slow realization of his growing feelings, the chapter titles (hahaha!), and their electric chemistry were definitely high points for me. I also adored Jacki, Yuri's BFF and Philippe, his valet/surrogate dad, and Roger, Angelo's security detail who stepped up when he was needed. Yuri's parents and Angelo's mother and their respective siblings were really supportive, well, except for Archie, LOL.
Michael Ferraiuolo did a fantastic job bringing Yuri and Angelo and the rest of the cast to life for me. His characterizations and comedic timing made it an absolute delight to lose myself in this book for a few hours.
All in all, this is a book I'll certainly listen to again. Be warned there's spanking and mentions of an abusive relationship, which might be triggering for some readers, but other than that, I have no trouble recommending it.

OMG – the different voices!
It's no secret that I love audiobooks performed by Michael Ferraiuolo but I think he seriously upped his game with this one. I love the story but I think this is definitely one book that I'm glad I listened to without reading it first. There is no way that I could have imagined all of the different characters the way that Michael played them. I loved that he used an American voice when he spoke as the narrator and then used the perfect accented voice for each of the characters.
I guess I should also say something about the story. 😊 Well, I thought it was fantastic. I've only listened to one other book by Lyn Van Dorn (again not having read it first) and it was also performed by Michael and now I want to listen to more of her work. Royally Screwed kept me glued to my headphones and I only stopped when real life interfered.
There have recently been a few other MM books out about "royalty" and I've really enjoyed them but this one was really fantastic. I loved that Angelo was a jerk who eventually redeemed himself. The large cast of supporting characters was also excellent. The story does have several spanking scenes so if that's not your jam you might not enjoy this. There is also discussion of a pain play going too far but it's pertinent to the story and not gratuitous.
In conclusion, I just can't say enough good things about this audiobook!
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Wonderful!
Sigh. Michael Ferraiuolo has done it again. As if there was any doubt. He did an amazing job bringing this beautiful love story by Lynn Van Dorn to life. I read this book first, and after I hounded the author to find out if Michael would be narrating it. I could just hear Michael in my head while I read. He did an amazing job with bringing Angelo and Yuri to life for me. If possible, he made me love this story more. I adored Angelo and Yuri. Their story was so wonderfully laid out as their relationship progressed throughout their life and betrothal. I was immediately drawn into their story and it really drew great emotions in me from laughter, some sadness, and sexy times that had me fanning myself. Bi-sexual awakening is my absolute favorite trope. This one was written in such a wonderful portrayal of recognizing one’s sexuality. It wasn’t overnight, or like a light switch, it was almost a conscious awakening. Angelo didn’t consider it a bi-awakening, but rather a Yuri-awakening as the only man he had eyes for was Yuri. It felt like such a natural take on coming to realize that love is not about parts, but the person behind the parts. It was lovely and organic, and not surprising coming from this author. Angelo and Yuri’s story was beautiful and sexy and I couldn’t recommend it more.

This book could have been a real mess trying to mix multiple tropes of gay for you, forced proximity, kind of enemies to lovers and hurt/comfort along with some light bdsm and abuse that one MC is subjected to that impacts the relationship deeply. Lynn Van Dorn, however, has woven all this together into a great story where after wringing our emotions dry and letting us follow them over the course of years, Angelo and Yuri get their HEA. Michael Ferraiuolo has a reall affinity for Van Dorn's characters. He is able to take some that on the page can be a bit unlikeable at times and make us understand them better and empathisize with them orally even before we come to love them as written. This is another perfect pairing of author and performer.

Royally Screwed - everything fabulous
How do you make a five star book even better?
Why, you add narration by Michael Ferraiuolo
All the stars!!!!
Book review because it’s all still true, even more so with the audio addition.
Holy cow, you guys!!!!
LVD wrote this story masterfully. Just when I didn't know how much more I could take, I was begging, and, thankfully, given more.
I adore these men so much—Yuri in his longing angst and Angelo in his reluctant yet fiercely protective selves. So much love, connection, and fiery chemistry.
There's so much to unpack in their journey and themselves. So much self-discovery about life and how we are defined, by self and others, which is done beautifully here.
Angst. Beauty. Questioning. Wit. Humor. Love. Fierceness. Vulnerability. Heat. And so much more. This book has the best of what defines a good romance story. I highly enjoyed and happily recommend this read. I can’t wait for the audio release to experience it all over again.
