About this listen
His training never covered how he might serve two Masters, but he’s about to discover his limits.
Patience, humility, subservience, gratitude…these are the virtues of a schiavo.
For three years, Giovanni has followed his Master’s rules with love and devotion. But when Master, a New York City crime lord, must tie up loose ends with the family business, Giovanni is sent away to embark upon a life no one could have prepared him for.
Forced to stay with Signore, Master’s younger brother, Giovanni realizes Signore is everything his Master is not—brash, boisterous, impulsive, and arrogant. He’s determined to test Giovanni’s patience and most of all, his obedience.
Torn by his loyalties to two very different men, Giovanni strives to exemplify his virtues in every way, but he’ll soon discover what happens when serving two Masters proves to be more than he can handle. How far can Giovanni bend before he breaks?
Master's Schiavo is an introspective romantic story featuring a submissive shared by two different Dominants. This work contains several references to past abuse and trauma. Trigger warnings for addiction, suicidal ideation, self-harm, illness, and death. This book is meant for entertainment purposes only, not as a guide to safe, sane, and consensual BDSM practices.

Bittersweet
I read/listen to a lot of stories. I try to stick to author’s that I feel make it worth my time to read/listen to their books. This really qualifies as one of those. This is a case where I wish I could rate it above five star. I am not good at reviews but I try to fit my feelings about a book into the review. This story is what I have to call bittersweet. I don’t think I’ve ever used that word before in a review but it seems so fitting here. Giovanni goes through so much in his life. It is impossible to even put myself in his experiences nor would I want to. After some of the worse things that can happen to him, he is in the care/relationship of his Master (Valentin Fortuna). The author did a great job of showing the in-depth feelings between master and slave. It is so deeply emotional. Then Master introduces his younger brother Signore to the lifestyle between him and Gio. Signore is left to care for Gio while Master has to take care of some business. Things change for Gio from their time together. Both Valentin and Signore are totally different men with different personalities. The interaction between them and Gio is intense. The twist to the story had me holding my breath, hoping against hope that I knew where the story was going. It grabbed me and kept me hostage until I finished the story. This book made me a follower of the author. I think the narration by Daniel Carter brought these characters to life. It made the story that much more real.

Absolutely fantastic performance and story!
Such a beautiful love story told in a most stunning way. The characters & setting & circumstances were so easy to get lost in, easily relatable, likable & the personalities, flaws & all, are characterized wonderfully in all 3 main characters. Simply stunning. I'm blown away by the way this tale unfolded & played out. Excellent job & my heart was broken, mended, full, weeping - so many emotions. Lovely ending as well
Beautiful narration performance from a new to me narrator that I hope to hear more of in the future. Fantastic pacing, characterization & portrayal of all players & their emotions & affectations. Beautifully done, author & narrator both.

Breathtaking
The way the author has chosen to show us Gio interacting with and serving two such different Doms is amazing. We feel everything - Gio's confusion, excitement, pain, pleasure, fear, you name it. Both men challenge him and care for him in totally different ways and we see his responses change accordingly. Daniel Carter gives a note perfect performance here. His accent is gorgeous and every nuance of every character's emotions are brought vividly to life.

Hard one for me to rate
This was a hard story for me to rate. I had trouble with the harshness and cruelty of the BDSM, even if it was consensual. Also, the story really started slow for me. However, when Silvio entered the picture, things got more interesting as Gio faced a completely different and kinder domination. Eventually, he is torn a little between the two men, his Master and his Sir, but the conflict is brief and quickly settled. The ending, though...the ending made the whole listen worthwhile, and I cried. In the end, Giovanni had the power over his Master, but never let him down. And Valentin kept his most important promise, always. I was a little surprised that the past and Michael didn't play a bigger role. I thought that would be part of the healing, but in the end, Giovanni didn't really change. He remained the submissive.
The narration was incredible, powerful, and emotional. I cannot imagine a more perfect delivery.

Poignant
Master’s Schiavo is the second book in the Giovanni trilogy. I suggest reading the first book in the series before reading this one in order to fully enjoy the book. This is a beautiful and poignant book exploring further the emotional and lovely bond between Giovanni and his Master, Valentin. However, danger lurks around every corner, and there are secrets Valentin has not disclosed, all of which lead to Giovanni and Valentin moving across the ocean to Italy. This move also introduces Valentin’s younger brother, Silvio into the equation, creating one of the most interesting and fascinating relationship dynamics I’ve read about. I won’t lie, I definitely cried during this book. It was beautiful. The love was real and raw. I thought the story was gorgeous and enjoyed it.
The audiobook was well done. Daniel Carter did a lovely job with the narration and bringing the characters to life.

Exquisite!
I don’t really know what to say about this exquisite story. I have just finished listening to Daniel Carter and I can’t imagine any other narrator who could have brought this story to life as well as he has done. A D/s love story so deep that I was overwhelmed at times, so beautifully written. Bravo!👏

OMG, this book broke me…in a good way
I’d thought the first book in the series was painful. Giovanni is a character I want to wrap into my arms and hold tight. He’s been through so much shit in his life that it’s a wonder he keeps going. But he’s got his Master to take care of him. Their BDSM relationship works because Giovanni doesn’t just need pain – he needs love and tenderness. And he needs to be able to serve – so he takes care of Master and Master takes care of him.
In this book, they head to Italy – away from New York City. Giovanni adapts, but then Master has to go back to New York and it’s no longer safe for Giovanni there. Master leaves Giovanni in the care of Signore – Sir. Master’s younger brother.
This book is told entirely from Giovanni’s point of view, and his takes on Master and Sir are fascinating. There are issues, though. Sir favors rope and bondage, while those are hard triggers for Giovanni. Giovanni wants pain – and Sir isn’t able to fulfill that need.
Still, the men make things work until Master comes home. But Master is different. Oh, my God. Okay, break my heart.
This book touches that place deep within me and I’m tearing up even as I write this review. I didn’t see this plotline coming and so it packed a wallop. I sobbed. Ugly crying…but in a good way. And, again, I just wanted to wrap Giovanni in a big hug.
I’m off to read the third book in the series and can’t wait to see what’s instore for my favorite characters. Quickly, Daniel Carter is a competent narrator and I enjoyed his performance.

You need to enjoy the BDMS Master/Slave dynamic
At first, you think that Master is quite hard on his slave until Slaves (Giovanni) past is unwound.
Master is a New York crime lord, and he knows how to train a slave, he's strict and sometimes brutally hard, but he knows how to handle his slave. That is until things go wrong.
I enjoyed this book immensely, the dynamics between the two main characters are well balanced, and when they travel to Italy to meet Masters brother, the story develops.
Very sad in parts, also many triggers, drugs, suicide and self-harm. But saying that, it has some fun moments as well.
Well narrated, clean and clear. Daniel Carter is new to me narrator, but it was an enjoyable listen. I sped up to 1.50 on Audible, which is usual for me.
