Excellent advice and support

This is a much-needed audiobook that touched me deeply. In recent years I have had to care for 2 different family members, one of whom suffered with Dementia. It is a lot and can really drain you. I love the support provided in this audiobook and the recognition and emphasis put on the importance of self-care for the caregiver. I know firsthand how easy it is for the caregiver to just keep going and neglect their own needs. This is not sustainable and this audiobook provides a space for the care-giver to be supported and honored. A excellent audioook.

What's especially helpful are the real-world tips on dealing with the emotional and behavioral changes that come with dementia, including how to handle difficult situations like agitation or confusion without losing your cool.
Overall, "Minding Dementia: The Caregivers Guide" is an essential resource that balances practical advice with emotional support. Embrace the opportunity!

Whenever life throws a challenging situation your way- embrace it. That's exactly what this book has taught me to do. I like the fact that the book teaches self-care as well as patient care. The dos and don'ts of effective communication are also very helpful. It's a sad situation when family members are abusive and take advantage of the person with dementia, but this problem is also discussed in this book. It's one of the more difficult things in life to care for a loved one with dementia, but it's so worth it to have the time with them. This is an important read for anyone with a loved one with dementia.
