The Reluctant Series

Being asked to save two worlds is quite the burden but when you have to do it with a woman whom you love but who scorns you, well, that doesn’t make it any easier. It helps when you are imbued with the memories and skills of ancient warriors, but being the hero is rarely a joy ride, a lesson Quentin learns the hard way. Along the way he meets a Goddess who leads him to a six-thousand-year-old hermit from whom he learns that he has fallen into the middle of an ancient struggle.

Trapped in a world filled with mental slaves and given an impossible task by a capricious God with a penchant for only telling half the story, Quentin must travel the land to remove mental slavery and free the people. But when a God asks you to save the world it's not like you really have a choice, especially when the other option is death. If that wasn't enough on his plate he had to do it with the love of his life Sharon and her lover by her side.

Betrayed by the Hermit, Quentin must once again return to Ye-sho before the Hermit can undo all the good that Quentin has left behind. Quentin and his companions must track the hermit down to retrieve the stone before he can once again enslave the minds of the people. Along the way he must rely on the many friends he made on his first visit while he plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Hermit. If he fails, both worlds will fall under the Hermit's control. Is it too much to ask to be allowed to live happily ever after?
