John James

Having fought in a dozen wars across three continents, John James is trying and failing to incorporate himself back into the American way of life. His time in the Malaysian jail almost broke him.

To find his inner peace, John drives his old Willy's Jeep through the mountains of Colorado’s Routt National Forest for an elk hunt. Lost and frustrated, he encounters a little old lady in a hospital gown—eighty miles from the closest town. Without thinking, he stupidly opens his mouth and offers to help. As usual, the universe hears his promise to protect, and trouble ensues.

With the FBI hot on his tail, John has to fight his way through genetically modified soldiers and meth-heads. Lewis, the super-soldiers’ commander, is brilliant and leads John through one diversion after the other.
