Chitundu Chronicles

A teenage girl, Myrna Chitundu, dreams of becoming a doctor someday. She dreams of leaving the dusty African town of Blancville behind her and really changing the world, but she knows it will take a lot of hard work. Her hard work pays off when she is admitted to the Royal Academy - the first girl to ever be admitted to the prestigious all boys' school. But everything changes when Myrna discovers she is pregnant. Suddenly her well-ordered life begins to unravel.

Nursing student Florence Chipiti mentors three young students from Zambia. As she tells them how her mind works, they, too, have something to teach her. They have endured the loss of a parent, the attacks of a predator, and the fear of not being able to make the grade. Florence has a controlling father known far and wide as the Honey Badger, who demands she become a state certified registered nurse, all from the influence of a book read to him by his tutor, Wellington Taylor.
