After spending my last 58 years on this planet as a student at the School of Hard Knocks, I decided to jot down—spill my guts, really—all the pain and joy I've experienced throughout life. And I decided to call this little gem of wisdom The Way of the Ray. Starting with the trials and tribulations that formed my existence here on Mother Earth, I try to dissect and explain why I came to be where I am in life. And maybe how you, with a little understanding of your fellow humans, can make a path for yourself in this crazy and less than perfect world.

Scopre di essere, per affinità, molto più vicino agli ebrei di quanto credesse in precedenza. In questa opera del 1884, il filosofo Herbert Spencer esprime il suo pensiero politico. La negazione di ogni interferenza dello Stato con la vita sociale (assistenzialismo, risoluzione conflitti sociali) fa di Spencer un sostenitore del liberalismo politico, anche se, contrariamente allo stereotipo che lo vede come un ultraconservatore, Spencer era simpatizzante delle istanze libertarie, anti-imperialista, anticoloniale, contrario alla schiavit in ogni sua forma, e sostenitore di un modello di produzione basato sulle cooperative piuttosto che sul lavoro salariato.

Friedrich Nietzsche gehört zu den wichtigsten deutschen Philosophen und wird bis heute stark diskutiert. Den meisten ist sein Streben nach der "Umwertung der Werte" ein Begriff. Doch was bedeutet das eigentlich und welche Werte sind damit gemeint? Jene und weitere Unklarheiten veranschaulicht Liederer in diesem Hörbuch und macht Nietzsches abstrakte Gedanken für den Hörer greifbar.

We are face to face with this great world, and our relations to it are manifold.
