Hammurabi (c. 1810 BC-c. 1750 BC) was the sixth king of the First Babylonian Dynasty. The Code of Hammurabi contains 282 laws and was written in Akkadian. It prescribed specific penalties for every crime and is among the earliest codes to establish the presumption of innocence.
