عاش المفكر الكبير عبد الرحمن الكواكبي في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر، وهي الفترة التي عانت فيها الأمة العربية الكثير من الضعف والذل، إذ أراد المستعمر الاستيلاء على أراضيها واستنزاف ثرواتها.
