Biografias Hnos. GrimmJakob Grimm (1785 - 1863) y su hermano, Wilhelm (1786 - 1859), nacieron en Hanau, Hesse (Alemania). A los 20 años de edad, Jakob trabajaba como bibliotecario y Wilhelm como secretario de la biblioteca. Antes de llegar a los 30 años, habían logrado sobresalir gracias a sus publicaciones. Fueron profesores en la universidad de Kassel, y en la de Gotinga. Más tarde, se trasladaron a la universidad Humboldt de Berlin. En 1803 Jakob y Wilhelm empezaron a recopilar y elaborar los cuentos de la tradición oral en el entorno burgués de Kassel.

Charles Perrault nació en París el 12 enero de 1628, junto a su hermano gemelo, en el seno de una familia perteneciente a la alta burguesía. Participó en la creación de la Academia de las Ciencias y en la restauración de la Academia de Pintura. Desde 1663, fue secretario de la Academia Francesa. Escribió cuarenta y seis obras, aunque es el género de los Cuentos de hadas, el que lo consagra como escritor.
