John Conlan is nicknamed “The Bathroom Bomber” after setting off firecrackers in the boys’ bathroom 23 times without getting caught. John and his best friend, Lorraine, can never please their parents, and school is a chore. To pass the time, they play pranks on unsuspecting people, and it's during one of these pranks that they meet the “Pigman”. In spite of themselves, John and Lorraine soon get caught up in Mr. Pignati’s zest for life. John and Lorraine happen to be passing by the Pigman’s abandoned house when they receive the shock of their lives: someone or something is watching them from the upstairs window. Convinced this is a sign from beyond the grave, John and Lorraine decide they have been given a chance to make up for what happened to the Pigman. Can they make things right once and for all?

En Lazarillo de Tormes, publicado en 1554 por Anónimo, Lazarillo debe utilizar sus ingeniosos para trampear a una sucesión de amos de mala reputación. En Rinconete y Cortadillo, publicado en 1613 por Miguel de Cervantes, dos hombres jóvenes aprenden a sobrevivir con el juego y los trucos. Estas dos historias cortas son sátiras de la sociedad que dibujan la sociedad de la época, incluso podríamos compararlas con el mundo en que vivimos hoy.

Cervantes nos cuenta la vida de dos jóvenes muchachos los cuales se encuentran en el camino de Toledo con dirección Andalucía y hacen amistad uno con otro. Ambos muchachos llamados Pedro del Rincón y Diego Cortado, huyeron de sus respectivos hogares debido a que eran maltratados por sus familias. Por el camino hacia Sevilla encuentran a un arriero, a éste le estafan con cartas robándole todo el dinero que llevaba consigo.

Rinconete y Cortadillo es, seguramente, la mas popular de todas las Novelas ejemplares de Cervantes. En la andadura de estos dos muchachos desde la famosa Venta del Molinillo hasta el horrendo patio de Monipodio en Sevilla, Cervantes ha desplegado, con humor y sin renunciar a su fina ironía, una vision crítica y satirica de ciertos ambientes sociales en la Espana de la segunda mitad del siglo XVI.
