The omen's demise is itself an omen of times to come. The king, long constrained by the goddess' rules, finally has the chance to exercise his power over the world. Lucas soon realizes that those ambitions don't just stop at one world.

After Lucas dies during a freak explosion, divine intervention sees him brought back to life with the power to control a new dungeon. There are just a couple of issues: his old body is bound to his dungeon, and the craziness of what he thought was his final act is only getting weirder. When he sees newbie adventurers entering his dungeon, though, he decides to help them survive and complete their quests. After all, adventuring is a process, and someone needs to guide the rookies.

The Omen's first foray into Centerpoint Dungeon has failed, but Lucas knows that won't be the end of it. He has to prepare himself for the storm that's brewing—all while continuing to manage his dungeon, doing everything from running his tours to committing large-scale counterfeiting to holding a singing competition. There are enemies on all sides. The dungeon lies within an oppressive kingdom that refuses to acknowledge any of its countless wars. To the south lies the Omen of death, eager to consume it all. Still unknown threats verge towards Centerpoint.

If ever a whole town could be haunted, Devil's Moon, Kentucky would be that town. Ripley Van Raden, or Rip as her friends call her, has come back to her hometown to start her own ghost tour business. That's not her only career path, though. Librarian by day and ghost tour guide by night, Rip is ready to take on the ghosts following her around and the mysterious residents who show up for more than the tour in the Devil's Moon Cemetery.

The dead want Ripley Van Raden’s attention. Two of Ripley Van Raden’s favorite things are books and ghosts. Not necessarily in that particular order. Rip, as her friends call her, guides people on a haunted tour through her hometown of Devil's Moon, Kentucky. Ripley is also a librarian by day. That’s where the books come in. Of course it’s no surprise that the library is haunted too. The ghost of the first librarian roams the stacks of Bilson Library, sending Ripley text messages and emails. That’s the only way the ghost knows how to communicate.
