A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Wyatt and Biz, two gay guys married and living in New York, are having a baby together via surrogacy. And they’re freaking out. Not only are they about to change their whole way of life, they also can’t seem to get along at all. But time is running out: they have under a month until the baby is here. So in a desperate attempt to get their relationship back on track, the pair take a make-or-break roadtrip across America, to California, to pick up their new baby.

In a medical landscape dominated by computer screens and corrupted by money, they have one goal: to make medicine humane again.

There’s a (very) short stint studying accountancy (he was asked to leave); a FÁS course with juvenile offenders to become a waiter that leads to an apprenticeship in Jury’s (he was the only one not in prison), and a job in a lighting warehouse (it ended with a collapsed lung). But no matter what the problem, Paddy Byrne is always ready with a wise word: ‘Sure, that’s life, son. Just don't tell your mother.’
