Story
Horror movies hold a complicated space in the queer community: historically misogynist, and often homo- and transphobic, the genre has also been inadvertently feminist and open to subversive readings. It Came from the Closet features twenty-five original essays by writers speaking to this relationship, through connections both empowering and oppressive. From Carmen Maria Machado on Jennifer’s Body, Jude Ellison S. Doyle on In My Skin, Addie Tsai on Dead Ringers, and many more, these conversations convey the rich reciprocity between queerness and horror.

Story
Ron Howard is long overdue to have his filmography viewed through the lens of the auteur theory. Since his debut in the late-1970s, he has remained one of the most prolific and recognizable working filmmakers, and yet... his "directed by" titles have garnished a low amount of commentary by film academics. Even younger mainstream directors have earned more than one volume of academic attention ? and yet Howard, who has continually developed himself, seems to only get treated with pop-culture-trivia "fun fact" regarding his acting career.

Story
Hyphenated: Music + Identity is an audio documentary series about immigrant and second generation immigrant musicians in Europe navigating their "hyphenated" identity through their music. It's about borders and frontiers both within themselves and their music. I hope to put some light on these artists, give them space to tell their story, and to introduce you, the listener, to new music and perhaps new perspectives on the world. Created and produced by veteran music+film journalist Ron Deutsch. More info can be found at our website: http://www.hyphenated.eu

First there was the spoken word. Then came history books. Followed by radio, television and now the internet. Thanks to the miracles of modern technology, we can access historical interpretations at the simple touch of a screen. But how accurate are these depictions?Napoleon Bonaparte famously proclaimed: “History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.” Orwell warned "Who controls the past controls the future." And we have all heard the cliche “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” But what if we could learn about historical ...
