Four children live on an island that serves as the repository for all the world’s garbage. Trash arrives, the children sort it, and then they feed it to a herd of insatiable pigs: a perfect system. But when a barrel washes ashore with a boy inside, the children must decide whether he is more of the world’s detritus, meant to be fed to the pigs, or whether he is one of them.

When Last Day comes, and Australia falls, Harper finds herself recruited by a mysterious US marine called Jenna Plural. Unable to go home, Harper and her best friend, Stacey, must go into enemy territory and steal an advanced prototype.

Seventeen-year-old Buddy has always dreamed of escaping the Lower East Side slums of New York City to become an artist. His life changes when he begins working as an apprentice for Mister Joey Drew, the eccentric owner of an animation studio. Surrounded by a colorful cast, including composer Sammy Lawrence and writer Dot, Buddy starts to believe that dreams can come true. However, strange occurrences at the studio, marked by trails of dark ink, lead Buddy and Dot to uncover a mystery that may involve Mister Drew himself.

It is 1876. Three close friends—Jonas Celwyn, the automat Professor Xiau Kang, and Bartholomew, a scientist and widower from Sudan—set out on another adventure. Celwyn has been wounded and all that keeps the immortal peyote-eating magician alive are the skills of an old enemy, his half-brother Pelaez. After Celwyn is taken aboard the submarine Nautilus by his companions, they must journey to Thales, the healer of the immortals. Even for the intrepid Captain Nemo and his fearless crew, the adventure will prove deadly.
