Voilà ce que je me répète sans cesse pour ne pas m’écrouler, pour tenter d’oublier à quel point ma vie est misérable.... En plus, je dois de l’argent à Carl, mon patron. Cinq mille dollars! Oui, l’argent que j’y reçois aide beaucoup ma sœur, mais toute cette expérience me dépasse. Je suis de moins en moins charitable, de plus en plus impatient. Et je commence à faire des cauchemars. À avoir des hallucinations qui me semblent parfois tellement vraies....

Ce qui me définit le mieux : ma passion pour le cinéma. Un jour, je tournerai mon propre film. Quand j’aurai de l’argent. Beaucoup d’argent. J’étais totalement à sec à mon arrivée en ville. Heureusement que Mini a accepté de partager son "appartement" avec moi. C’est grâce à elle que j’ai découvert AlphaLab.

Ce que j’aime faire de mes journées : rien. Je me définis comme un paresseux. Les DVD et les livres sont mes seuls amis, car ils n’exigent aucune concession de ma part. Même travailler ne me viendrait pas à l’esprit. Voilà pourquoi je prête mon corps à la science. Je participe à des études cliniques en tant que cobaye. Pas de responsabilités, peu d’exigences. On me paie pour tester des produits.

Mon souhait le plus ardent: vaincre la tourmente. J’en ai marre. Marre de mes cicatrices qui attirent le regard de tous et qui, paradoxalement, éloignent celui de mes parents. La mort de mon frère jumeau ne m’a pas que rendu invisible à leurs yeux, elle a également provoqué chez moi d’importants troubles anxieux. Au fil des années, la tourmente s’est nichée dans mon esprit. J’ai peur qu’elle ne s’y soit installée pour toujours.

Mon seul problème, c’est que j’aimerais gagner plus d’argent. J’en ai besoin pour finir mes travaux dans la pièce insonorisée. Si je veux l’utiliser, un jour.... Je devrais peut-être creuser du côté de ce laboratoire, celui qui cherche des candidats pour tester un nouveau médicament. Ça paie drôlement bien ! Avec tout ce fric, ma salle de jeux serait rapidement opérationnelle.
