Blown overboard while sailing with her uncle, Dorothy finds herself in the fairy realm of Ev. She sets out with her friends to rescue the Queen of Ev and her ten children, who have been imprisoned by the cruel Nome King.

Dorothy is carried by a raging storm to the Land of Ev, where she meets some of her old friends from Oz. She also joins forces with Bellina the hen, Tiktok the mechanical man, the Wheelers, and Princess Langwidere to match wits with the Nome King and free the royal family of Ev.

When a storm blows Dorothy overboard on an ocean voyage to Australia, she washes ashore in the Land of Ev, which has been taken over by the evil Nome King. If she and her companions (Billina the Talking Hen, Princess Ozma of Oz, and Tik-Tok the Mechanical Man) can't find a way to defeat the Nome King's powerful magic, they'll all be turned into ornaments for his collection!
