Max Delbrück, geboren am 4. September 1906 in Berlin, gestorben am 10. März 1981 in Pasadena. Physiker und Biologe, Begründer der Molekulargenetik, 1969 ausgezeichnet mit dem Nobelpreis für Medizin und Physiologie, ist hier in Originaltonaufnahmen als Vortragender, Interviewpartner und Sänger zu hören.

Der Physiker Max Planck (1858-1947) hat mit seinen epochemachenden Spectralvorträgen zur Quantentheorie im Jahre 1900 das physikalische Weltbild neu begründet. Für seine Entdeckung der Naturkonstanten h und die Entwicklung der Quantenformel E = h · v wurde er 1918 mit dem Nobelpreis geehrt. Planck setzte sich auch immer wieder mit weltanschaulichen Problemen der modernen Naturwissenschaft auseinander, die er einer breiten Öffentlichkeit in Wort und Schrift zu vermitteln suchte.
