The Many Lives of Mama Love is the astonishing tale of Lara's descent from middle class soccer mum with an enviable lifestyle, beautiful home and family to an opiate addict and identity thief. This new publication of Geoffrey Wansell's iconic, best-selling true-crime masterpiece comes 30 years after West was arrested, in 1992.

The Love of My Life ...to Death is a new podcast from Mary Dees featuring victims & families, experts, and policymakers about the subject of domestic homicide. This project was inspired by Mary's own loss of her sister Patricia Birmingham, who was murdered by her own husband in 2021, and the lack of justice that followed.

The Netflix series "Till murder do us part: Soering vs. Haysom" deals with the Haysom murders in detail, but the love affair between Elizabeth Haysom and Jens Soering comes up a little short. How could Jens have fallen so deeply in love with Elizabeth that he was willing to get involved in a double-murder? Jens wrote about this years ago in A far, far better thing (Lantern Books 2017). While the focus of that book is on the murders, seven chapters have almost nothing to do with the crime. Instead, they describe the passionate early months of Elizabeth's and Jens's affair.

The young Walter Miller was a product of his time. Growing up Black in the Jim Crow American South, he was in trouble with the police before his 14th birthday. And, like so many young Black men, once he'd landed in the criminal justice system it was hard to find a way out. Soon enough, he was facing a 30-year prison sentence. But Walter was smarter than his jailers. He escaped prison and fled to New York with a hundred dollars in his pocket. He changed his name to Bobby Love and began again—living a crime-free life for nearly 40 years.

My story is the subject of a documentary on Discovery Plus. I become a police informant, telling authorities of my plan to obtain a taped confession from my ex-husband. He is using his position of power for his own dirty pleasures. I leave him and then learn of many more years of sexual battery in another state. I know what I must do. My heart is torn between the love I had for him and my need to seek justice for his crimes. I find it difficult to interact with him knowing the evil man he is, but I persevere. This saga plays out over an eight-year period.
