This children’s audiobook was inspired by the little African American girls in my family and the experiences and challenges they face on the schoolyard and classrooms. Young African American girls are lead to believe that they are inferior to other races, and this audiobook is meant to inspire and lift them up. Young African American girls are often ridiculed for having different hair. They are asked many questions from other children, and they need to be lifted and honored for their heritage.

Before Kamala Harris was elected to the vice presidency, she was a little girl who loved superheroes. When she looked around, she was amazed to find them everywhere! In her family, amongst her friends, even down the street - there were superheroes wherever she looked. And those superheroes showed her that all you need to do to be a superhero is be the best that you can be.

This is the story of Dujuan Hoosan, a 10-year-old Arrernte and Garawa boy. A wise, funny, cheeky boy. A healer. Out bush, his healing power (Ngangkere) is calm and straight. But in town, it's wobbly and wild, like a snake. He's in trouble at school, and with the police. He thinks there's something wrong with him. Dujuan's family knows what to do: they send him to live out bush, to learn the ways of the old people, and the history that runs straight into all Aboriginal people.
