Elvira Baan, Thomas Bresser, Nathalie Giorgio, Christian Marck, Thom van de Loosdrecht en Lieve Timmerman hebben onderzoek gedaan naar de heldendaden van burgemeester Vogelaar, Arie Evegroen, Cor Heuvelman en Hannes van Vliet. De heren schreven een stuk geschiedenis die nergens terug te vinden is in de geschiedenisboeken. Samen hebben zij in de nacht van de Watersnoodramp weten te voorkomen dat Zuid-Holland tot Leiden aan toe onder water zou komen te staan.
