Hot off cracking his first official case, Frankie Dupont is on the scene when his new teacher takes ill. Enderby Manor has a few more secrets up her sleeve, and as Frankie begins to unravel them, he uncovers a plot stinkier than a sardine sandwich.

When his cousin Kat disappears from Enderby Manor, Frankie Dupont jumps on the case. Bumbling Inspector Cluesome thinks Kat simply wandered off, but Frankie isn’t buying it. He follows the evidence trail to a conniving concierge, a six-fingered chef, a talking parrot, a mad maid, and a shifty dwarf…and quickly finds himself in a desperate race to recover Kat before her time runs out.

Marigold "Goldie" Vance lives and works at the Crossed Palms Resort Hotel in Florida with a whole slew of characters: her dad, Art, the manager of the joint; Cheryl Lebeaux, the concierge and Goldie's best friend; and Walter Tooey, the hired hotel detective. Her mom, Sylvie, works nearby at the Mermaid Club. While life at the Crossed Palms is always busy, the resort is currently overrun with Hollywood-types filming the hottest new creature feature, and tensions are at an all-time high.
