Upon the death of Sprign, goddess and creator of the Pandyr and all other beasts in Mistgard, the island has come under attack by ruthless frost and fire giants from afar. Long fragmented, every creature in the eight clans must now come together to defend their land. Hammerheart must join with Darkcloud, Mistcloak with Thundermaw, and, most important, the children of Sprign must unite with their forgotten comrades of the ninth clan: the Bearzyrk.

Dans le monde magique de Troy, Lanfeust, jeune forgeron, découvre qu'au contact d'une certaine épée, il possède le pouvoir absolu. S'il souhaite juste en connaître l'origine, ce n'est pas le cas du pirate Thanos, doté du même don, mais aux ambitions bien plus sombres... Pour protéger le pouvoir de l'épée et vaincre Thanos, Lanfeust devra, accompagné de ses amis (dont un troll sous enchantement), affronter mille dangers et voyager jusqu'au bout du monde.
