Herr Kluthe bekommt einen Goldhamster, ein Geschenk seiner Mutti. Ausgerechnet, wo er doch Angst vor Tieren hat. Fritz Fuchs hilft aus und will dem kleinen Nager zu einem angenehmen Zuhause bei dem Ordnungsamtmann verhelfen. Weniger weil er Herrn Kluthe mag, sondern weil er mit dem Tier mitfühlt. Doch der Hamster haut dabei ab, und der daran mitschuldige Fritz startet eine Suchkampagne. Tatsächlich wird ein Hamster gefunden. Doch der entpuppt sich als seltener, einheimischer Feldhamster.

Peter Lustig hat mal wieder eine "bahnbrechende Erfindung" gemacht: Einen vollautomatischen Rauchabsauger hat er entwickelt, der jedes Feuer im Nu unschädlich machen soll. Um das Gerät zu testen, sucht Peter die Feuerwache Bärstadt auf – und stolpert dabei prompt in einen richtigen Einsatz. Hautnah erlebt er, wie Mensch und Technik bei der Feuerwehr zusammenspielen, um zu retten, zu löschen und zu schützen. Und auch Peter selbst soll dabei noch eine große Rolle spielen.

Ungeheuerlich! Im Bärensee, Peters liebstem Angelrevier, soll ein Seemonster sein Unwesen treiben. Ein Verwandter von Nessie und Godzilla? Oder doch ein gewaltiger Raubfisch? Jedenfalls ist halb Bärstadt auf den Beinen, um das sagenhafte Biest an den Haken zu kriegen. Auch Peter hat das Jagdfieber gepackt. Mit Technik und Raffinesse taucht er ein ins geheimnisvolle Unterwasser-Leben.

Von wegen Müll! Ein wertvoller Gartenzwerg des Nachbarn ist verschwunden, und Schuld ist Peter Lustig, der ihn aus Versehen weggeworfen hat. Nun muss Peter sehen, dass er das verlorene Kerlchen zurück holt. Mit Spürsinn und Ausdauer verfolgt er den Weg des Verpackungsmülls und schleicht sich in eine Sortieranlage. Dort erfährt er, wie mit großem Aufwand aus den Bärstädter Müllbergen wieder wertvolle Rohstoffe werden.

Peter Lustigs Nachbar Paschulke ist in Nöten. Für die geplante Gartenparty braucht er eine absolut zuverlässige Wetterprognose, doch die Lage ist unbeständig und der Wetterbericht im Radio viel zu allgemein. Peter verspricht zu helfen: Er will gleich einen Wetterfrosch befragen. Oder vielleicht doch besser einen Meteorologen? Und was ist eigentlich mit den guten alten Bauernregeln? Peter fragt sie alle und erstellt schließlich einen kühnen Wetterbericht. Sogar mit Garantie! Wenn das mal gut geht.
