Twelve-year-old Maxine Chen is just trying to nail that perfect landing: on the ice, in middle school, and at home, where her parents worry that competitive skating is too much pressure for a budding tween. Frau Barsch hat sich dazu entschieden, ein komplett neues Lehrerkollegium einzustellen. Aufgrund des großen Fachkräftemangels, blieb ihr nicht viel Entscheidungsfreiheit. Frau Bohnenkemper-Müller ist zwar sehr kompetent, aber auch streng und spießig. Herr Phillipp Phillipp ist nicht mal ein richtiger Lehrer und unterrichtet die Schüler nur in Kunst und Frau Belova hat andere Sachen zu tun, als sich um einen geeigneten Unterricht zu kümmern.
