Can a person just decide to give up feeling scared? It’s 1933, and Dahlia Harrell lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains in a hand-me-down cabin built by her Grandpap’s Uncle Zeke. At eight-and-three-quarters, Dahlia knows all about being scared. She’s scared of snakes, high-up places, dark nights, and a mean ol’ sister named Celia. What she doesn’t understand is the new president’s nonsense: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

It’s hard to imagine things could get worse after one’s parents die in a greenhouse explosion. But that is precisely what happens to Basil and his younger sister, Dahlia. They escape from the social worker who wants to split them up to different foster homes by jumping off a moving train, only to find themselves wounded (Dahlia) and bedraggled (Basil) and without a soul to care for them. What’s more, they’re lost in the wilds of New York City.

Rico, Rocky, and Rocco are three little raccoon brothers who love to go on adventures. From their cozy tree house, their Mama always keeps a close eye on them, but sometimes these little brothers get into mischief. Down by the creek, Rico, Rocky, and Rocco spy a sleeping fisherman and next to him…a basket full of fish! Sneaky Rico decides they should take the fish for themselves, but when Mama sees what her sons have done, she is certainly not happy!
