In the post-apocalyptic genre, we deal a lot with external demons. The grid goes down, pandemics, economic collapse, hostile takeover, solar flares, and EMPs are all horrifying circumstances in their own right. What happens though, when we face our own obstacles: those vicissitudes within ourselves? When trust has been broken? When a loved one is removed? When your psyche has been shocked to the point you cannot function? How do you find the strength to survive, let alone lead a group of people out of harm's way?

From the beginning, Emma was always looking for modern ways to becoming self-sufficient. Following the signs of a faltering economy and a nagging in her spirit to return to her family farm, Emma begins rebuilding a life independent from the grid and away from her high-stress corporate job.

It's a different kind of world now, full of quick hits and idle hands. Long forgotten are the times when life was simple and pure - well, until now. Take a rowdy group of old timers and throw in an apocalypse, and you have the makings for quite an adventure, when they are forced to rescue their grandchildren from the world as we know it and teach them the Old Skool way of life to survive.
