As Sicily fell and the Allies prepared to press on, Italy’s fascist dictator, Benito Mussolini, was actually arrested to prevent him from doing further damage. Non si conosce con precisione il numero delle persone che tra il 1944 e il 1945 vennero uccise e poi bruciate alla Risiera di San Sabba. Secondo la sentenza del processo furono oltre duemila.
