I'm sick of being alone, sick of being ignored by my alien "husband," Xade, and exhausted from always being as nice as possible. When the local alien wildlife starts rampaging, all I see is a golden opportunity to finally get some alone time with him on a mission, convince Xade to be my friend… and maybe more. Xade's grumpy demeanor brings out another side of me, though, and I start to realize saying "no" is a skill I need to work on.

I've dedicated my life to doing as much good as possible. I won't let my marriage to the big and buff alien assassin, Feruz, wreck my plans. I don't care if I accidentally swore to be his mate at what I thought was a welcoming ceremony. My morals are the polar opposite of his, and I want nothing to do with him... even if my new life on his planet is a bit lonely. When Feruz offers me a way out of our marriage, I take it in a heartbeat. If I go on one date with him to a relaxing resort and still want out of our marriage, he'll leave me alone.

Although my brother disappeared many cycles ago, I've never given up hope that he's alive. I get word about a human who has seen him, but she's evading me. When I finally come face to face with her, the situation becomes a whole lot more complicated, because I can't deny the pull toward the female with the smart mouth. She doesn't know it yet, but she'll be by my side as I rule over my people.
