La primera edicion de "Lolita" apareció en París en 1955, publicada por Olympia Press, una editorial con acreditada gama de pornográfica. La novela fue prohibida en Francia y en Inglaterra, y hasta tres años más tarde no pudo publicarse en Estados Unidos.
