  • Summary

  • Bite sized tips on coping with problems we all face day to day, whether you are working from home, starting out at a new workplace, or high up the ladder in a large coprorate. Lainy Russell provides advice, based on years of experience in senior roles, mixed with her love of all things science-based. She says her approach is based on the importance of neuroscience, linked with our biology, our environment, our culture and the whole psychology of values, beliefs and why we are motivated (or not) on performance and success. • Do you hold off, rather than get started?
    Sep 23 2024
How long can you hold off getting something done? Do you tell yourself it’s too big a job and you don’t have the time right now? Or maybe it’s just too much of a chore and you are not I the right frame of mind? Phil asks, what about those who just say, pump yourself up and get it done. That just doesn’t work, says Lainy Russell. To really tackle procrastination, you have to understand the biology of your brain, and do a little rewiring. No scalpel required.

  • Procrastination. Why can't I get going?
    Sep 17 2024
We’re all guilty of it. Putting things off. Particularly those things we don’t enjoy. For Lainy Russell it’s doing her tax, which she puts off to the last possible moment. Phil Dobbie asks, why doesn’t she put a bit of time aside each week, so it’s easier to manage. Because that would remind her weekly of how much she hates doing her tax. Lainy says it’s all about understanding how your brain operates and adjusting accordingly.
